How will I adapt/revise my writing process for future revision of the academic mindset assignment? [Be specific. Review your current six-step writing process plan and consider posting a new six-step plan.] I didn’t change nothing about my step.

Eng100 03/28/17 After I read chapter five (pg. 28 - 38) of Teaching Adolescents to Become Learners [...] (Chicago University), I had a better understand of what is an academic mindset. Chapter five mainly focus on the four academic mindset (belonging, growth mindset , self- efficacy and relevance/purpose.) I honestly can said I do use all of these mindsets since I been a college student. The most important mindset that I believe help achieve academic success at Delaware County Community College is belonging. Out of all my friends I’m the only one in school. Some days I get the feel like this not for me. When I start feel like that I can see how much effort I put in my school work. If I’m feeling like I don’t belong here why will I get up in the morning to go to school. That will effort my attendance. When I remind “I belong in this academic community” I has a strong impact on my performance. Feeling part of a school makes me more likely to engage in the activities. For example two weeks ago the school had all the club sign up sheet out in the open. I saw the club in my particular field engineer but I walk right past the sign up paper knowing I should sign up. The reason because I had that “I don’t belong here” mindset. I got roughly ten steps away for the paper and the mindset that help me turn around and sign up for that club was “I belong here” mindset kick it. I’m not say the rest not important or I don’t use them. I know what get me out of bed each morning for English at 8 am. I belong in this academic community. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. Ever since I was a child I will rebuild thing such as cd player and ect. I have enjoyed building things. Engineering would let me express my love for creating things, and allow me to apply my science and math skills. A lot of people ask me why mechanical engineer for your major. First of all I love learn math and science. You get the opportunity to create something will be used by other and that’s the greatest joy. Mechanical engineer is the second branch of engineering. My career options are open even after I graduate. You can learn how to design and make thing from a safety pin to a spacecraft. Get paid handsomely after gaining a few years experience. I can see myself working for small firm. Roughly 20 people working at the build. Starting work around 8 or 9am. Working as a team to get the project done on time. Everybody idea get hear. Will build a long term relationship with co-worker. Get the chance to learn from all my co-worker. Less we got to put in overtime to get the project done we will get off at 5pm. My family will be so proud of me. Career that pay well and I love doing is a plus. |
